At First Glance

First B.I.P. (Ball In Peace) to Gigi and Kobe Bryant it was an honor to watch you guys on the court. Your family and the basketball world truly miss you guys. At first glance, you can see they didn't want to go over the top. They wanted to represent what Gigi loved and from the outside looking in it was basketball. We saw most of Gigi playing in the AAU circuit for her dad's Mamba Academy team dropping tons of buckets. The shoe shows that with the team colors black and white. I love how they kind of made the black disappear on the midsole. I was a little worried about the checkered design that starts at the midsole wrapping around the heel to the other side but it fits nicely.

A View From Above

If you have been following my blog from the beginning you know I'm not a fan of the print inside the insole. It tends to fade with a few wears especially if you have sweaty feet. The mambacitas seem to have put a patch there which should eliminate the problem of it fading. My concern would be if the patch is soft so that it won't hurt the bottom of your feet because people are going to play in them. I like the way the toe box isn't closed and leads to the white midsole until it touches the black bottoms. Lastly the gold it's a great touch giving the shoes a championship feel.

A View From Behind

On the back of the shoe, you see Gigi's name on both sides with the checker pattern leading to her number she wore 2. The number 2 is in gold again signifying the champion mentality Gigi often showed on the court or just talking basketball. Mrs. Bryant did a great job capturing everything Gigi loved outside of her family. 9.0/10
